Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

As a CBT psychologist in Ontario, Dr. Bodenstein provides evidence-based cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) for a wide range of mental health concerns. CBT therapy Ontario is a structured, goal-oriented approach that helps individuals identify and change negative thought patterns and behaviors.

Is CBT effective for anxiety? Yes, CBT for anxiety is one of the most evidence-based treatments available. Our cognitive behavioural therapy Ontario services are effective for:

  • Anxiety disorders
  • Depression
  • Panic disorders
  • Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD)

Certified Driving Instructor Referral / In-Car Support

In addition to benefitting from therapy, many are also referred to a driver training program for an assessment and development of an in-car plan in order to complement the psychological treatment with in-car work and to provide them with specific teachings regarding safe driving habits.

The effectiveness of in-clinic therapy of such anxiety is greatly enhanced by so-called in-vivo (i.e. real life, in this case, in car) exposure. This fact is supported by research and clinical literature. Such exposure, when provided under the direction of a qualified instructor, allows the person to systematically practice the skills taught at the clinic in the real world situation.
